 Former RAMS baseball player signs professional baseball contract overseas Minimize
  

Austin --- Former Rams baseball player Rickey Thomas has just signed a professional baseball contract with the Brasschaat Braves, a baseball team in Belgium. Thomas becomes the third Rams baseball player to play professional baseball in the last five years. Ben Parker, right-handed pitcher played with the Cincinnati Reds rookie team in 2004, and then with the Lewisville Lizards in the Continental League in 2007. Clay Jessee, another right-handed pitcher played with the Amarillo Dillas in the United League in 2006-2007.

 

Thomas played third base for the Rams in the 2007 seasons hitting .344 with 7 home runs, 3 triples, and 14 doubles knocking in 61 RBI’s.  He was on the 2007 RRAC All-Conference Second Team and will have playing time at third base and first base while hitting in the middle of the Braves lineup.
