Adrienne Ringer, sophomore English Major and Volleyball player, has been selected as the 2007 recipient of the Greater Texas Federal Credit Union (GTFCU) Student-Athlete Scholarship. Her $1000 tuition scholarship award will be presented by GTFCU officials at halftime of the women’s basketball game on Homecoming night, February 3rd, at Mary E. Branch Gymnasium.
The award recognizes student-athletes’ academic and athletic performance and future goals in those areas, career ambitions, and the ability to professionally articulate these things, as well as an explanation as to why one deserves the award.
Ringer, a setter, became HT’s 1st All-Region player, earning 2nd Team honors. The Pflugerville HS product had 620 assists, averaging 5.54 per game, and was ranked high in service aces and digs. Ringer was also named 1st Team All-Conference. She and libero Stephanie Castro will continue to represent HT as they have been selected to the USA International Athletes team, which will compete in the Scottish Open in Perth, Scotland from May 21-29, 2007.
