HT's Volleyball team is competing at the Wayland Baptist University Tournament this holiday weekend in Plainview, TX.

In Thursday's first match against Oklahoma Panhandle State University, The Lady Rams opened with their 5th consecutive loss, 25-30, 25-30, and 19-30.

Natali Sandlin and Melinda Sowers led the Lady Rams with 6 kills apiece with setter Adrienne Ringer commanding the Ram attack with 21 assists. Ringer and Sowers contributed on defense with 7 digs each while Stephanie Castro led with 8 digs and 3 aces. TreeAndrea Grundy and Kendriqua Spears had 5 and 3 blocks respectively at the net.

HT's loss streak came to an end in the second match against St. Gregory University, winning all three games, 30-27, 30-25, and 30-26.

Natali Sandlin for the second match in a row led the Lady Rams with 10 kills with help from Trenique Baugh who had 4 kills. Setter Adrienne Ringer had 19 assists along with 2 aces. Senior Danille Tisdale knocked in 2 aces and 8 digs while libero Stephanie Castro set her match high of 17 digs. TreeAndrea and Kendriqua had blocks of 4 and 3 respetively but the unofficial stat is block touches which Grundy had 14 and Spears had 13. This stat helps our back row defense digs balls to put back into play.

Next up are matches Friday against University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and McMurry University.
