Lady Rams win at Texas College 75-69
 
TYLER – Shaneka Mason scored 19 points in the second half as the Huston-Tillotson Lady Rams defeated Texas College 75-69 on Saturday.
 
Mason (Bryan/Bryan/Blinn) finished the game with 25 points, and was 4-of-7 from behind the three-point circle.
 
The Lady Rams trailed 30-12 with 9:11 remaining in the first half, but outscored the Lady Steers 27-9 the rest of the period to cut Texas College’s lead on one point by halftime.
 
Huston-Tillotson took its first lead of the game on a Brittany Hillard field goal to open the second-half scoring. The Lady Rams never trailed the rest of the game, and led by as many as 12 points at the 6:06 mark in the second half.
 
Kei’Ara Watson (Corpus Christi/West Oso/Temple College) and Kevetta Williams (Waco/University) came off the bench and scored 10 points apiece for Huston-Tillotson in the first half.
 
Watson finished the game with 14 points and Williams tallied 12. Brittney Jones (Houston/Hightower) added 10 points.
 
Deanira Monday (San Antonio/UT-Tyler) tallied five assists for Huston-Tillotson. Mason and Williams handed out four assists.
 
Ashley Bell (Beaumont/North Platte CC) grabbed 12 rebounds to go along with eight points for the Lady Rams.
 
Huston-Tillotson has won eight of its 11 contests against Red River Athletic Conference opponents.
 
The Lady Rams are in action today, as they face Wiley College in Marshall. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
